Gunnlaugson finished 5-1 in the 22 team College Clean Restoration Curling Classic qualifying round, held November 29 - December 2, 2019 at the Nutana Curling Club in Saskatoon, Canada. In their opening game, Gunnlaugson lost 7-3 to Shaun Meachem (Saskatoon, SK), then responded with a 6-1 win over Steven Howard (Regina, SK). Gunnlaugson won 4-2 against Jeremy Harty (Calgary, AB), then won 7-1 against Kody Hartung (Langenburg, SK) and 5-2 against Todd Birr (Ham Lake, MN). Gunnlaugson won 6-4 against William Lyburn (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
Gunnlaugson earned 22.146 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the College Clean Restoration Curling Classic, remaining in 15th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 2.643 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gunnlaugson ranks 13th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 168.866 points earned so far this season.
