In their opening game, Bajde defeated Rosemary Lenton (England) 9-6, then went on to lose 12-2 against Viljo Petersson-Dahl (Sweden). Bajde lost 7-5 to Steve Emt (Norfolk, CT) where Bajde responded with a 13-10 win over Jostein Stordahl (Norway). Bajde went on to lose 8-7 against Raymond Pfyffer (Switzerland). Bajde lost 10-1 to Hugh Nibloe (Scotland). Bajde lost 9-1 to Konstantin Kurokhtin (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
