Yu Long Sun (Beijing, CHN) finished 4-2 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sun lost 5-4 to Shuai Yu Zhang (Beijing, CHN), then responded with a 20-1 win over Italy's Sandro Dal Farra. Sun won 12-4 against Italy's Maurizio Cagol. Sun went on to lose 6-4 against Konstantin Kurokhtin (Moscow, RUS). Sun responded with a 18-1 win over Italy's Gabriele Dallapiccola. Sun won 10-2 against Italy's Paolo Ioriatti in their final qualifying round match.
