Alberta Junior Provincials qualifying round, held January 3 - 5, 2020 at the Lloydminster Curling Club in Lloydminster, Canada. In their opening game, Palanuik lost 9-2 to Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB), droppimg another game, 8-2 to Cole Adams (Calgary, AB) where Palanuik responded with a 7-3 win over Cole Ector (Edmonton, AB). Palanuik won 12-11 against Max Kobylnyk (Calgary, AB). Palanuik went on to lose 8-2 against Jacob Libbus (Edmonton, AB). Palanuik responded with a 8-7 win over Nathan Molberg (St. Albert, AB). Palanuik went on to lose 7-3 against Cortland Sonnenberg (Sexsmith, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
