James Grattan (Oromocto, NB) finished 3-4 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Grattan defeated Thomas Scoffin (Whitehorse, YK) 9-8, then went on to lose 10-6 against Matt Dunstone (Regina, SK). Grattan lost 8-3 to Kevin Koe (Calgary, CAN) where Grattan responded with a 7-4 win over John Epping (Toronto, ON). Grattan won 6-3 against Steve Laycock (Vernon, BC). Grattan went on to lose 8-6 against Jamie Koe (Yellowknife, NT). Grattan lost 9-4 to Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

Grattan earned 12.889 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 14 spots the World Ranking Standings into 66th place overall with 68.638 total points. Grattan ranks 66th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 68.638 points earned so far this season.
