Luciana Barrella (Sao Paolo, BRA) finished 2-4 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Barrella lost 9-7 to Veerle Geerinckx (Zemst, BEL), droppimg another game, 10-7 to Ireland's Alison Fyfe. Barrella lost 9-1 to Dilsat Yildiz (Eruzurum, TUR) where Barrella responded with a 8-5 win over Karrie Alaqel (Riyadh, KSA). Barrella won 7-6 against Iulia Traila (Bucharest, ROU). Barrella went on to lose 8-1 against Sandrine Morand (Megeve, FRA) in their final qualifying round match.

Barrella earned 2.210 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, remaining in 668th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with 2.210 total points. Barrella ranks 206th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 2.210 points earned so far this season.
