Rhett Friesz (Airdrie, AB) finished 4-3 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Friesz defeated Kevin Park (Strathmore, AB) 8-7, then won 12-3 against Sean O'Connor (Calgary, AB) and 8-4 against Carter Lautner (Calgary, AB). Friesz went on to lose 8-6 against Aaron Sluchinski (Airdrie, AB). Friesz lost 7-6 to Chad Dahlseide (Calgary, AB) where Friesz responded with a 7-5 win over Trevor Funk (Medicine Hat, AB). Friesz went on to lose 9-8 against Lautner in their final qualifying round match.

Friesz earned 2.906 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 24 of the event schedule, Friesz did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Friesz ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
