Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) won 3-1 over Trent Skanes (St. John's, NL) in the Final Gushue advanced directly to the championship game after finishing first in the preliminary round. of the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard, held January 28 - February 2, 2020 at the Remax Centre in St. John's, .

Gushue finished 8-0 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gushue defeated Andrew Symonds (St. John's, NL) 9-2, then won 8-1 against Ken Peddigrew (St. John's, NL) and 7-4 against Skanes. Gushue won 7-4 against Nathan Young (St. John's, NL), then won 9-1 against Colin Thomas (St. John's, NL) and 8-0 against Greg Smith (St. John's , NL). Gushue won 10-2 against Dave Thomas (Channel-Port aux Basques, NL), then won 7-4 against Mark Noseworthy (St. John's, NL) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Newfoundland & Labrador Tankard Championship title, Gushue earned 11.025 world rankings points, remaining in 3rd place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 0.33699999999999 after improving upon their best so far this season. Gushue ranks 3rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 320.844 points earned so far this season.
