Schulze finished 6-0 in the 0-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Schulze defeated Ueli Hirt (Thun, SUI) 7-4, then won 10-1 against Christopher Mina (San Francisco, USA) and 6-5 against Pring. Schulze won 10-2 against Josep Duro (AND/ENG, ), then won 7-6 against Gord Turcotte (Ottawa, ON) and 5-2 against Ilgiz Sayfutdinov (Moscow, RUS) in their final qualifying round match.
