Kevin Tym (Edmonton, AB) finished 4-3 in the 14-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Tym defeated Branden Cookson (Vermilion, AB) 9-1, then won 9-2 against Evan van Amsterdam (Edmonton, AB) and 6-5 against Jacob Libbus (Edmonton, AB). Tym went on to lose 10-5 against Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB). Tym responded with a 7-1 win over Kalem Hamilton (Edmonton, AB). Tym went on to lose 7-6 against Libbus. Tym lost 7-4 to van Amsterdam in their final qualifying round match.

Tym earned 2.290 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 26 of the event schedule, Tym did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tym ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
