CHAMPION: Peterson/Polo Wins 2020 USA Mixed Doubles National Championship

Tabitha Peterson/Joe Polo (Chaska, MN) won 7-4 over Cory Christensen/John Shuster (Duluth, MN) in the Final of the USA Mixed Doubles National Championship, held February 27 - March 1, 2020 in Bemidji, Minnesota. To advance to the championship game, Peterson/Polo won 8-5 over Sarah Anderson/Korey Dropkin (Minneapolis, USA) in the semifinals of the 2020 USA Mixed Doubles National Championship in Bemidji, Minnesota; and won 10-7 over Vicky Persinger/Christopher Plys (Chaska, MN) in the quarterfinals. of the 2020 USA Mixed Doubles National Championship in Bemidji, Minnesota;

Peterson/Polo finished 3-2 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Peterson/Polo defeated Kim Rhyme/Jason Smith (St. Paul, MN) 9-4, then went on to lose 8-7 against Becca Hamilton/Matt Hamilton (McFarland, WI). Peterson/Polo responded with a 6-5 win over Christensen/Shuster. Peterson/Polo went on to lose 8-1 against Maryland's Katherine Gourianova/Eli Clawson. Peterson/Polo responded with a 6-5 win over Alexandra Agre/Derrick McLean (Chaska, MN) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the USA Mixed Doubles National Championship Championship title, Peterson/Polo earned 41.147 world rankings points. For week 32 of the event schedule, Peterson/Polo did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Peterson/Polo ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
