Sutherland/Ryan won 9-3 against Jessica Shipmaker/Mike Aprile (Mississauga, ON). Sutherland/Ryan went on to lose 7-6 against Lyndsey Wilson/Scott Dow (Palmerston, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

Sutherland/Ryan earned 2.456 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins.
