Gunnlaugson finished 4-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gunnlaugson defeated Andrin Schnider (Schaffhausen, SUI) 7-4, then went on to lose 8-1 against Kody Hartung (Saskatoon, SK).
