Kim went on to lose 7-6 against Eun Bin Kim (Uiseong, KOR). Kim responded with a 11-1 win over Jongduk Park (Gangwondo, KOR). Kim won 11-3 against SooHyuk Kim (Seoul, KOR), then won 10-3 against Gyu Nam Oh (Seoul, KOR) in their final qualifying round match.
