Purcell won 10-2 against William Becker (Naseby, NZL). Purcell went on to lose 7-5 against Kim Schwaller (Bern, SUI). Purcell responded with a 7-6 win over James Craik (Stirling, SCO). Purcell won 7-4 against JaeBeom Lee (Gyeongsan, KOR), then won 9-3 against Hostmaelingen and 6-3 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

With their third place finish at the World Junior Curling Championships, Purcell earn 17.321 world rankings points, moving up 22 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 64.405 total points. Purcell ranks 59th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 64.405 points earned so far this season.
