Purcell won 7-4 against JaeBeom Lee (Gyeongsan, KOR), then won 9-3 against Hostmaelingen and 6-3 against Axel Landelius (Mjolby, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
With their third place finish at the World Junior Curling Championships, Purcell earn 17.321 world rankings points, moving up 22 spots the World Ranking Standings into 59th place overall with 64.405 total points.
