Jang went on to lose 8-2 against Matt Thums (United States). Jang lost 9-2 to Haitao Wang (China). Jang lost 5-2 to Radoslav Duris (Slovakia) where Jang responded with a 6-5 win over Egidio Marchese (Italy). Jang went on to lose 8-2 against Mark Ideson (Canada). Jang responded with a 6-1 win over Jostein Stordahl (Norway). Jang went on to lose 7-4 against Eric Decorvet (Switzerland). Jang responded with a 8-4 win over Konstantin Kurokhtin (RCF) in their final qualifying round match.
