In their opening game, Canada's Mark Ideson lost 6-4 to United States's Matt Thums, then responded with a 6-3 win over Switzerland's Eric Decorvet. Canada's Mark Ideson won 4-2 against China's Haitao Wang, then won 5-4 against Sweden's Viljo Petersson-Dahl. Canada's Mark Ideson went on to lose 7-4 against Scotland's Hugh Nibloe. Canada's Mark Ideson lost 7-6 to Norway's Jostein Stordahl. Canada's Mark Ideson lost 9-6 to RCF's Konstantin Kurokhtin where Canada's Mark Ideson responded with a 8-2 win over Korea's Jaehyeok Jang. Canada's Mark Ideson won 8-3 against Slovakia's Radoslav Duris, then won 6-2 against Latvia's Polina Rozkova and 7-6 against Italy's Egidio Marchese in their final qualifying round match.
