Sixten Totzek (Munich, GER) won 7-4 over Joel Retornaz (Pinerolo, ITA) in the Final of the Aberdeen International Curling Championship, held March 17 - 20, 2022 in Aberdeen, Scotland. To advance to the championship game, Totzek won 8-4 over Ross Whyte (Stirling, SCO) in the semifinals
 
Totzek finished 4-1 in the 9-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Totzek defeated Andreas Harstad (Oppdal, NOR) 8-5, then won 7-0 against Benny Kapp (Fuessen, GER) and 9-7 against Whyte. Totzek won 6-1 against David Sik (Prague, CZE). Totzek went on to lose 5-4 against James Craik (Stirling, SCO) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Aberdeen International Curling Championship Championship title, Totzek earned 28.076 world rankings points along with the $4,133CDN first prize cheque. Totzek move up 6 spots after posting a net gain of 25.404 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 24th overall with 121.491 total points on the World Ranking Standings.
