To advance to the championship game, Japan's Momoha Tabata won 7-2 over Mari Motohashi (Kitami, JPN) in the semifinals of the 2022 Hokkaido Curling Championships in Hokkaido, Japan;
 
Japan's Momoha Tabata finished 5-2 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Japan's Momoha Tabata defeated Azuki Akimoto (Sapporo, JPN) 7-1, then won 5-2 against Momono Shirahata (Kitami, JPN) and 7-5 against Miyu Tanaka (Obihiro, JPN). Japan's Momoha Tabata won 4-3 against Yuuna Takahashi (Nayoro, JPN), then won 7-6 against Japan's Mizuki Tmura. Japan's Momoha Tabata went on to lose 6-2 against Minami. Japan's Momoha Tabata lost 7-4 to Motohashi in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Hokkaido Curling Championships Championship title, Japan's Momoha Tabata earned 5.063 world rankings points, moving up 79 spots the World Ranking Standings into 167th place overall with 5.591 total points.
