To advance to the championship game, Vestman/Ahlberg won 7-2 over Camilla Noreen/Simon Granbom (Stockholm, SWE) in the semifinals of the 2022 Gefle Mixed Doubles Cup in Gavle, Sweden; and won 6-1 over Lara von Bueren/Marco Klaiber (Dubendorf, SUI) in the quarterfinals.
Vestman/Ahlberg finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Vestman/Ahlberg defeated Lea Hueppi/Jonas Weiss (Kusnacht, SUI) 8-1, then won 7-3 against Emma Sjodin/Johannes Patz (Karlstad, SWE) and 9-3 against Adela Walczak/Andrzej Augustyniak (Lodz, POL). Vestman/Ahlberg won 8-5 against Eirin Mesloe/Willhelm Naess (Lillehammer, NOR), then won 9-4 against Tova Noreen/Per Noreen (Gavle, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.
