Cody Tanaka (New Westminster, BC) qualified for the 2022 King Cash Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 6-5 against Yusuke Morozumi (Karuizawa, JPN). of the 2022 King Cash Spiel in Maple Ridge, British Columbia, Canada;
 
Tanaka finished 2-1 in the 16 team King Cash Spiel qualifying round, held December 2 - 4, 2022 at the Golden Ears Curling Club in Maple Ridge, Canada. In their opening game, Tanaka defeated Chris Gomes (Maple Ridge, BC) 6-3, then went on to lose 6-3 against Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC). Tanaka responded with a 7-3 win over Matthew McCrady (New Westminster , BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Tanaka earned 7.500 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the King Cash Spiel. For week 18 of the event schedule, Tanaka did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Tanaka ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
