In their opening game, Kitazawa defeated Claire Booth (Sherwood Park, AB) 11-0, then won 7-4 against Kaufman and 7-1 against Adele Purcell (St Albert, AB). Kitazawa won 8-2 against Michelle Hartwell (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
