Matt Dunstone (Winnipeg, MB) won 7-2 over Reid Carruthers (Morris, MB) in the Final of the DEKALB Superspiel, held December 2 - 5, 2022 at the Morris Curling Club in Morris, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Dunstone won 7-3 over Ryan Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2022 DEKALB Superspiel in Morris, Manitoba, Canada; and won 6-2 over Braden Calvert (Winnipeg, MB) in the quarterfinals.
Dunstone finished 3-0 in the 20-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Dunstone defeated Jordan Peters (Winnipeg, MB) 8-2, then won 4-2 against Calvert and 6-4 against Wiebe in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the DEKALB Superspiel Championship title, Dunstone earned 37.500 world rankings points along with the $11,000CDN first prize cheque. For week 18 of the event schedule, Dunstone did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 5th place on the World Ranking Standings with 322.598 total points. Dunstone ranks 2nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 183.000 points earned so far this season.
