To advance to the championship game, Black won 9-4 over Tanya Hilliard (Dartmouth, NS) in the semifinals of the 2023 Nova Scotia Scotties in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada;
 
Black finished 5-1 in the 8-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Black defeated Jocelyn Nix (Halifax, NS) 9-0, then won 8-5 against Jessica Daigle (Halifax, NS) and 10-6 against Hilliard. Black won 7-6 against Marlee Powers (Halifax, NS), then won 7-5 against Kristen MacDiarmid (Halifax, NS). Black went on to lose 6-5 against Hilliard in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Nova Scotia Scotties Championship title, Black earned 18.750 world rankings points. Black move up 3 spots after posting a net gain of 9.75 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 16th overall with 151.879 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Black ranks 20th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 118.250 points earned so far this season.
