Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) run at the 2023 BC Men's Provincials came to an end in the semifinals with a 9-8 loss to Brent Pierce (Kelowna, BC). of the 2023 BC Men's Provincials in Chilliwack, British Columbia;
Cotter finished 5-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cotter defeated Cody Tanaka (New Westminster, BC) 5-4, then won 10-4 against Paul Cseke (Victoria, BC). Cotter went on to lose 6-2 against Jacques Gauthier (Victoria, BC). Cotter responded with a 11-7 win over Cseke. Cotter won 7-5 against Sebastien Robillard (Port Coquitlam, BC) to advance to the B-Qualifier where they 9-8 against Pierce to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
Cotter earned 10.625 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the BC Men's Provincials, moving up 49 spots the World Ranking Standings into 119th place overall with 26.255 total points. Cotter ranks 142nd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 15.750 points earned so far this season.
