Gauthier finished 3-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gauthier defeated Chris Medford (Kimberley, BC) 7-4, then won 6-2 against Jim Cotter (Vernon, BC) to advance to the A-Qualifier where they 9-8 against Pierce to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the BC Men's Provincials Championship title, Gauthier earned 18.750 world rankings points. Gauthier move up 7 spots after posting a net gain of 13.875 points improving upon their best 6 results so far this season, ranking 30th overall with 111.621 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Gauthier ranks 30th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 92.750 points earned so far this season.
