Johan Hakansson (Karlstad, SWE) finished 2-3 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Hakansson lost 7-6 to Oskar Eriksson (Karlstad, SWE), then responded with a 1-0 win over Emil Markusson (Ostersund, SWE). Hakansson won 11-3 against Fredrik Julius (Sundbyberg, SWE). Hakansson went on to lose 7-4 against Axel Rosander (Norrkoping, SWE). Hakansson lost 7-4 to Thomas Nordgren (Falu, SWE) in their final qualifying round match.

Hakansson earned 2.625 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week 27 of the event schedule, Hakansson did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Hakansson ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
