To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 6-5 over Nancy Martin (Sasktoon, SK) in the semifinals of the 2023 Pumps and Pressure Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta; and won 7-1 over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) in the quarterfinals. of the 2023 Pumps and Pressure Red Deer Curling Classic in Red Deer, Alberta;
 
Sturmay finished 4-2 in the 23-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay defeated Kerry Galusha (Yellowknife, NT) 5-4, then went on to lose 6-2 against Homan. Sturmay responded with a 8-1 win over Kaitlyn Lawes (Winnipeg , MB). Sturmay went on to lose 5-3 against Skylar Ackerman (Saskatoon, SK). Sturmay responded with a 6-4 win over Jessie Hunkin (Spruce Grove, AB) to advance to the C-Qualifier where they 6-2 against Jodi Vaughan (Lethbridge, AB) to advance to the playoff round. in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Pumps and Pressure Red Deer Curling Classic, Sturmay take home 33.000 world rankings points along with the $7,000CDN prize.
