In their opening game, Totzek defeated Kalle Kiiskinen (Hyvinkaa, FIN) 7-5, then won 9-4 against Lukas Klima (Prague, CZE) and 8-7 against Ugurcan Karagoz (Erzurum, TUR). Totzek went on to lose 7-3 against Magnus Ramsfjell (Trondheim, NOR). Totzek lost 8-2 to Bruce Mouat (STIRLING, SCO). Totzek lost 8-4 to Yannick Schwaller (Geneve, SUI). Totzek lost 9-4 to Niklas Edin (Karlstad, SWE) where Totzek responded with a 8-4 win over Wouter Gosgens (Zoetermeer, NED). Totzek went on to lose 10-4 against Joel Retornaz (Trentino, ITA) in their final qualifying round match.

Totzek earned 13.500 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins, moving up 10 spots the World Ranking Standings into 74th place overall with 53.845 total points. Totzek ranks 59th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 31.125 points earned so far this season.
