Yannick Martel (Saguenay, QC) won 8-2 over Robert Desjardins (Saguenay, QC) in the Final of the Challenge Nord-Ouest Air Creebec/Agnico Eagle, held October 26 - 29 in Val-d, Quebec. To advance to the championship game, Martel won 7-4 over Gerry Savoie (Val-d'Or, QC) in the semifinals of the Challenge Nord-Ouest Air Creebec/Agnico Eagle in Val-d, Quebec; and won 8-6 over Ghislain Doyon (Val d'Or, QC) in the quarterfinals. of the Challenge Nord-Ouest Air Creebec/Agnico Eagle in Val-d, Quebec;

Martel finished 4-0 in the 25-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Martel defeated Bernard Larouche (Val-d'Or, QC) 5-2, then won 5-3 against Jean-Yves Lemay (Amos, QC) and 9-1 against Caroline Hains (Val-d'Or, QC). Martel won 7-2 against Patrick Bedard (Rouyn-Noranda, QC) in their final qualifying round match.
