Selena Sturmay (Edmonton, AB) won 7-4 over Corryn Brown (Kamloops, BC) in the Final of the Crestwood Platinum Anniversary Showdown, held January 10 - 13 at the Crestwood Curling Club in Edmonton, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Sturmay won 5-4 over Taylor Reese-Hansen (Victoria, BC) in the semifinals of the Crestwood Platinum Anniversary Showdown in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; and won 7-5 over Satsuki Fujisawa (Kitami, JPN) in the quarterfinals. of the Crestwood Platinum Anniversary Showdown in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada;
Sturmay finished 2-2 in the 15-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Sturmay lost 7-4 to Alena Yurko (Calgary, AB), then responded with a 7-6 win over Michelle Hartwell (Edmonton, AB). Sturmay went on to lose 7-5 against Brown. Sturmay responded with a 7-2 win over Gracelyn Richards (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the Crestwood Platinum Anniversary Showdown Championship title, Sturmay earned 26.250 world rankings points along with the $4,000CDN first prize cheque. Sturmay move up 4 spots after posting a net gain of 24.375 points improving upon their best 7 results so far this season, ranking 28th overall with 117.657 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Sturmay ranks 29th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 72.626 points earned so far this season.
