Gaidule/Buncis Runner-Up at 2025 WCT Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup 2

Katrina Gaidule/Roberts Buncis (Riga, LAT) lost 9-7 to Zuzana Paulova/Tomas Paul (Prague, CZE) in the Final of the WCT Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup 2, held April 3 - 6, 2025 at the Riga Curling Hall in Riga, Latvia. To advance to the championship game, Gaidule/Buncis won 8-2 over Sylvi Hausstatter/Sondre Svorkmo-Lundberg (Lillehammer, NOR) in the semifinals of the 2025 WCT Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup 2 in Riga, Latvia;

Gaidule/Buncis finished 4-0 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Gaidule/Buncis defeated Marietta Dabrowski/Lukasz Tomaszek (Swidnica, POL) 9-0, then won 8-0 against Anett Kiss/David Keri (Budapest, HUN) and 9-2 against Akvile Rykove/Konstantin Rykov (Vilnius, LTU). Gaidule/Buncis won 10-2 against Liga Avena/Aivars Avotins (Riga, LAT) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the WCT Latvian Mixed Doubles Curling Cup 2, Gaidule/Buncis take home 2.750 world rankings points along with the $800CDN prize. For week 36 of the event schedule, Gaidule/Buncis did not improve upon their best events, remaining at 83rd place on the World Ranking Standings with 23.500 total points. Gaidule/Buncis ranks 83rd overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 23.500 points earned so far this season.
