Tao responded with a 5-3 win over Devon Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB). Tao won 6-4 against Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB), then won 4-2 against Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB) in their final qualifying round match.
Tao earned 10.625 world rankings points for their Top 3 finish in the SGI Canada Best of the West. Tao move up 6 spots after posting a net gain of 7.812 points improving upon their best 8 results so far this season, ranking 66th overall with 46.250 total points on the World Ranking Standings. Tao ranks 66th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 46.250 points earned so far this season.
