Deane finished 5-0 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Deane defeated Brett Walter (Winnipeg, MB) 9-1, then won 7-6 against Tao and 8-6 against Logan Ede (Saskatoon, SK). Deane won 7-1 against Ryan Jacques (Edmonton, AB), then won 8-3 against Devon Wiebe (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.
For winning the SGI Canada Best of the West Championship title, Deane earned 18.750 world rankings points along with the $10,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 26 spots the World Ranking Standings into 68th place overall with 44.063 total points. Deane ranks 68th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 44.063 points earned so far this season.
