Fournier went on to lose 6-3 against Mulima. Fournier responded with a 3-2 win over Jacob Lamb (Dundas, ON) in their final qualifying round match.

For winning the Stroud Sleeman Cash Spiel Championship title, Fournier earned 9.750 world rankings points along with the $2,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 7 spots the World Ranking Standings into 66th place overall with 42.552 total points.
