deConinck Smith finished 3-1 in the 16-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, deConinck Smith defeated Garret Fedak (Regina, SK) 8-0, then went on to lose 8-2 against Derksen. deConinck Smith responded with a 6-5 win over Garret Springer (Regina, SK). deConinck Smith won 8-4 against Michael Carss (Saskatoon, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
