To advance to the championship game, Whyte won 9-7 over Glen Muirhead (Perth, SCO) in the semifinals of the Hardie Engineering Scottish Curling Championships in Aberdeen, Scotland;
 
Whyte are currently . In their opening game, Whyte plays Arran Thomson (Perth, SCO) on Wednesday at 6am and Ethan Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) at 2pm Arran Thomson (Perth, SCO) on Wednesday at 6am, Ethan Brewster (Aberdeen, SCO) at 2pm Muirhead on Thursday at 6am and Waddell at 2pm.
 
For winning the Hardie Engineering Scottish Curling Championships Championship title, Whyte earned 24.750 world rankings points, remaining in 4th place overall on the World Ranking Standings with a net gain of 3.75 after improving upon their best so far this season.
