Kevin Koe (Calgary, AB) won 5-4 over Brad Gushue (St. John's, NL) in the Final of the Canadian Open, held November 13 - 17, 2013 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, Koe won 4-3 over Glenn Howard (Penetanguishene, ON) in the semifinals of the 2013 Canadian Open in Medicine Hat, Alberta; and won 7-4 over Rob Rumfeldt (Guelph, ON) in the quarterfinals.
 
Koe finished 4-1 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Koe defeated John Epping (Toronto, ON) 4-2, then won 8-4 against Brendan Bottcher (Edmonton, AB) and 6-5 against Mike McEwen (Winnipeg, MB). Koe won 7-1 against Rob Fowler (Brandon, MB). Koe went on to lose 5-3 against John Morris (Vernon, BC) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Canadian Open Championship title, Koe earned 40.000 world rankings points along with the $24,000CDN first prize cheque, moving up 2 spots the World Ranking Standings into 2nd place overall with 371.600 total points. Koe ranks 1st overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 153.600 points earned so far this season.
