Jacobs steals to keep undefeated record intact
![]() Calgary's Team Brad Jacobs (Photo: Anil Mungal/GSOC) stole in the final frame to fend off Germany's Marc Muskatewitz. By: Cameron Sallaj It was another win for the defending Brier champions on Friday at the Tahoe Blue Event Center. Jacobs, with Marc Kennedy, Brett Gallant and Ben Hebert counted one in the eighth end to lift themselves 7-6 over Germany's Marc Muskatewitz and take an unbeaten record into championship weekend. Starting with the hammer, Jacobs began the scoring in the first half by counting two in the opening end. This score was then matched by Muskatewitz, who got two of their own in the second. Both rinks then scored deuces again in the third and fourth ends respectively, with the game remaining an even 4-4 split. Into the second half, the Germans were able to force Jacobs to just one in the fifth before tacking another two on the board in six for their first lead. They were then again able to force the Canadians in the seventh, tying the score at five a piece. With last rock coming home, Marc Muskatewitz needed a draw full four for the win. His shot was too heavy, however, sailing to the back eight and gifting Jacobs a stolen point and the coming from behind win in Draw 14. It's been an impressive start to the 2025-26 season for Team Jacobs, who are looking to peak in a few weeks at the Canadian Olympic Trials. They began the season by winning the ATB Okotoks Classic and finished runner-up at the PointsBet Invitational to Team Dunstone. They also reached the semifinals at the first Slam, the AMJ Masters, and won the Pan Continental Championship at the end of October. With an unblemished 4-0 record, Jacobs will be one of the top three seeds in the men's playoff round beginning Saturday. Just behind him are Dunstone and Scotland's Bruce Mouat, both at 3-0 and still to play. Having suffered a third loss, Team Muskatewitz is now eliminated at 1-3. The next draw from the KIOTI GSOC Tahoe gets underway at 3:30 PM PT with Kerri Einarson and Satsuki Fujisawa set for the Sportsnet featured game.
