Starting with hammer, Schultz scored 1 in the first end, with Farrell responding in the second end scoring 2. Schultz scored a single in the third end, then added steals in the fourth and fifth ends to take a 4-2 lead. Farrell scored a single in the sixth end, then added a steal of 2 in the seventh end to take back the lead but Schultz scored 2 in the eighth end for the 6-5 win. In the semifinals, Schultz defeated Kim Rhyme (Blaine, Minnesota) 6-4 and Farrell defeated Madison Bear (St. Paul, Minnesota) 5-2. Bear and Rhyme earned $813CDN for their semifinal finishes. Schultz went 3-1 in the 6 team round robin qualifying round. In their opening game, Schultz defeated Ann Podoll (Fargo, North Dakota) 7-6, losing their next game to Farrell 4-2, then respondied with a 6-1 win over Rhyme.
