McDonald finished 2-1 in the 12-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, McDonald lost 7-5 to Kaitlyn Jones (Winnipeg, MB), then responded with a 8-5 win over Kristy Watling (Winnipeg, MB). McDonald won 8-5 against Jennifer Clark-Rouire (Winnipeg, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the MCT Championships, McDonald take home 18.068 world rankings points along with the $1,000CDN prize, moving up 16 spots the World Ranking Standings into 62nd place overall with 52.267 total points. McDonald ranks 49th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 39.776 points earned so far this season.
