Jeff Erickson (Edmonton, AB) 7-5, then went on to lose 5-4 against Jason Ackerman (regina, SK). Appelman responded with a 7-6 win over Dave Manser (Lethbridge, AB). Appelman went on to lose 8-2 against Chris Schille (Edmonton, AB). Appelman responded with a 8-1 win over Rob Krepps (Edmonton, AB). Appelman won 7-3 against Lowell Peterman (Red Deer, AB, CAN) in their final qualifying round match.
 
For winning the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic Championship title, Appelman earned 22.000 world rankings points along with the $11,000CDN first prize cheque. For week of the event schedule, Appelman did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Appelman ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
