Appelman won 7-5 against Chris Schille (Edmonton, AB), then won 5-1 against Jason Gunnlaugson (Beausejour, MB) in their final qualifying round match.

With their runner-up finish at the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic, Appelman take home 13.750 world rankings points along with the $6,000CDN prize.
