Bryan Cochrane (Ottawa, ON) finished 4-3 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Cochrane defeated
Steve Allen (Ottawa, ON) 5-3, then won 8-0 against Gary Rowe (Ottawa, ON). Cochrane went on to lose 7-6 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste. Marie, ON). Cochrane lost 6-4 to Daniel Bedard (Lacolle, PQ) where Cochrane responded with a 7-5 win over Allen. Cochrane won 5-3 against Simon Dupuis (Thurso, PQ). Cochrane went on to lose 9-4 against Jacobs in their final qualifying round match.
 
Cochrane earned 3.190 world rankings points for their preliminary round wins. For week of the event schedule, Cochrane did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. Cochrane ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
