Jake Higgs (Harrison, ON) qualified for the 2009 Challenge Casino Lac Leamy playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-5 against Martin Ferland (Quebec, PQ). of the 2009 Challenge Casino Lac Leamy in Buckingham, Quebec, Canada;
 
Higgs finished 3-2 in the 28-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Higgs lost 5-1 to Cory Heggestad (Barrie, ON), droppimg another game, 6-5 to Tim Phillips (Sudbury, ON) where Higgs responded with a 6-4 win over Russ Howard (Moncton, NB). Higgs won 6-3 against Quebec's Michel Briand, then won 7-0 against Gary Rowe (Ottawa, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
 
Higgs earned 9.570 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the Challenge Casino Lac Leamy. For week of the event schedule, Higgs did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points.
