Middaugh finished 4-0 in the 18-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Middaugh defeated Mark Bice (Sarnia, ON) 6-3, then won 7-6 against Dale Matchett (Bradford, ON) and 7-3 against Brad Jacobs (Sault Ste Marie, ON). Middaugh won 6-4 against Jake Higgs (Harrison, ON) in their final qualifying round match.
