Ted Appelman (Edmonton, AB) lost 5-4 to Pat Simmons (Davidson, SK) in the Final of the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic, held October 15 - 18, 2010 at the Medicine Hat Curling Club in Medicine Hat, Canada. To advance to the championship game, Appelman won 9-0 over Scott Egger (Brooks, AB) in the semifinals   of the 2010 Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; and won 5-3 over Wade White (Edmonton, ON) in the quarterfinals.  of the 2010 Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada; 
 
Appelman finished 5-1 in the 32-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Appelman defeated Ji Hui Huang (Harbin, CHN) 1-0, then went on to lose 5-4 against Jim Bush (Calgary, AB). Appelman responded with a 6-5 win over Scott Bitz (Regina, SK). Appelman won 6-2 against Robert Schlender (Edmonton, AB), then won 9-5 against Rick McKague (Edmonton, AB) and 6-4 against Brad Law (Regina, SK) in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the Meyers Norris Penny Charity Classic, Appelman take home 16.350 world rankings points along with the $6,500CDN prize, moving up 1 spots the World Ranking Standings into 12th place overall with 110.850 total points. Appelman ranks 12th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with 32.500 points earned so far this season.
