Cathy King (Edmonton, AB) lost 6-5 to Heather Nedohin (Edmonton, AB) in the Final of the The Shoot-Out, held September 16 - 19, 2010 in Edmonton, Alberta. To advance to the championship game, King won 8-2 over Chelsea Carey (Winnipeg, MB) in the semifinals of the 2010 The Shoot-Out in Edmonton, Alberta; and won 8-2 over Heather Rankin (Calgary, AB) in the quarterfinals.
 
King finished 3-2 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, King defeated Casey Scheidegger (Calgary, AB) 11-1, then won 4-3 against Desiree Owen (Grande Prairie, AB). King went on to lose 6-5 against Carey. King lost 8-3 to Cheryl Bernard (Calgary, AB) where King responded with a 7-2 win over Alberta's June Campbell in their final qualifying round match.
 
With their runner-up finish at the The Shoot-Out, King take home 18.550 world rankings points along with the $2,700CDN prize. For week 2 of the event schedule, King did not improve upon their best events, remaining at th place on the World Ranking Standings with total points. King ranks th overall on the Year-to-Date rankings with points earned so far this season.
