Scott Madams (Winnipeg, MB) qualified for the 2009 St. Paul Cash Spiel playoffs, dropping their quarterfinals match 8-2 against Minnesota's Aaron Wald. of the 2009 St. Paul Cash Spiel in St. Paul;
 
Madams finished 5-0 in the 24-team qualifying round. . In their opening game, Madams defeated Lionel Locke (St. Paul, MN) 7-6, then won 6-4 against Allen Macsemchuk (Fort Frances, ON) and 7-4 against Troy Schroeder (St. Paul, MN). Madams won 6-1 against Todd Birr (Mankato, MN), then won 5-2 against Minnesota's Brad Caldwell in their final qualifying round match.
 
Madams earned 2.100 world rankings points for their Top 5 finish in the St. Paul Cash Spiel.
